Sunkiss
Walking through the redwoods where you cant see the forest through the trees, then you turn the corner and suddenly the clearing is a beautiful sun coming down to set over the ocean and at the suns fullest, and hottest just before its last movement down, it kisses the ocean's horizon.

A medical art piece inspired by the emotional healing work and book reference, “The Body Keeps the Score”. The focus on the liver offers the emotional cleansing of anger and releasing it from the body.

“130 Lancets” and “I Just Want to Eat”, are a part of a series still in process focusing on the emotional impact of Type 1 Diabetes. “130” is the number of finger pricks by lancets a typical diabetic would have to check their blood sugar per week (if they were not using a CGM). These pieces are to help non-diabetics understand the daily trauma of living with a chronic disease.
